About Me
Rooted in sunlight, focused on you
I’m a graphic artist and photographer based in Southern California, creating bold, story-driven work across two mediums: stylized poster art and documentary-style photography. Whether I’m designing WPA-inspired prints that celebrate local culture or capturing unscripted moments through my lens, everything I create is rooted in storytelling.
My journey with photography began early. I was a teenager at a flea market when I picked up my first camera for five bucks. It broke soon after, but it had already sparked something in me. That spark turned into a career when I started working as a newspaper photographer in the ‘90s … chasing breaking news, covering sporting events, shooting portrait sessions, and capturing life as it unfolded.
Soon after, I was creating infographics, page layouts and section branding as well. I worked with outlets like the Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, MLive Media Group, and Knight Ridder, working on everything everything from the beautiful to the brutal.
My work has taken me from the streets of LA to the heart of a Midwestern newsroom, from elegant portrait sessions to gritty, real-world moments. Along the way, I’ve developed a documentary style that anchors everything I do, whether I’m creating a WPA-style graphic celebrating the Channel Islands or photographing a restaurant’s new interior or a family gathering as the sun sets in Ojai.
In addition to client work, I’m also a listed artist and have been featured in galleries throughout Southern California. My personal work explores themes of contrast, isolation, connection, and place—often with a quiet, observational tone that invites viewers to linger a little longer. This artistic foundation strengthens the storytelling behind every image I create, whether it’s for a brand, a family, or a wider audience.
